>> Dakota Alix has raced all over the world getting some valuable experience under his belt that some riders never have the opportunity to encounter. Finding some success last summer doing the Canadian nationals, Dakota Alix is heading into outdoors with confidence. The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM rider is slowly adjusting to the new team and the 450 outdoor class. Qualifying well for Thunder Valley
in Colorado the Vermont native was 15th fastest heading into the motos. Dumping the throttle out of the gate, his KTM flew to the first turn putting him right into the mix of things up in 11th. Battling with some experienced competitors, the young rider was falling back get- ting passed by Marvin Musquin and Blake Bagget. Now in 13th, Alix was beginning to find his groove on the tricky Colorado track. Hang- ing onto his position for a few laps, Josh Grant eventually caught up to him and passed him pushing him back into 14th. Before the race concluded Alix stole back his spot after Josh Grant pulled off the track due to unknown reasons. Finishing off the first moto with a well- deserved 13th the young rider was headed into the second moto with a boost of confidence. Carrying the momentum into the start of the next race, he was able to grab another decent start right around 14th. As riders made mistakes around him he stayed consistent and strong throughout the entire second moto never shifting from his 14th place spot. Riding another impressive moto, the young gun Dakota Alix went 13-14 for the day grabbing himself a 15th overall finish at Thun- der Valley for round three of Promotocross.
