Benny Bloss has enjoyed a consistent and solid 2016 season leading up to round five at Muddy Creek. The BTO Sports KTM rookie logged the sixteenth fastest lap time in qualifying practice staying right in
stride to where he’s been all season. The first moto kicked off with one of Bloss’ better starts of the year as he came around the opening lap in twelfth. His starts have not been the greatest this season so he looked to take advantage of this
one. He bolted up into tenth by the end of the second lap but would end up making a mistake and dropping all the way back to eighteenth. He steadily recovered and moved back up to thirteenth by the midway point of the moto. Just as things looked to be going well again Bloss would make another bobble and drop back a few spots to fifteenth. Once again he bounced back with veteran like poise and moved forward. He passed Peters for fourteenth and then late in the moto he’d get around Barcia and Noren. After all the back and forth Bloss would emerge from moto one with a season best eleventh place. Bloss looked to back up that nice first moto performance with another one in moto number two. Unfortunately he could not repeat another solid start and he would get the green flag way back in twenty-fourth. Despite being way back, he started charging just like he did in the first race but he would go down and drop all the way back to thirty-seventh. He stayed in the race but the damage had been done. He clawed his way up to twenty-third place. It was a bummer of a second moto but he showed he could perform well with a good start in the first. Look for Bloss to only keep improving as the season continues.
