BLAKE BAGGETT
Blake Baggett came into the 2016 outdoor season with a chip on his shoulder. His sophomore season didn’t begin as planned in supercross as he dealt with a plethora of injuries and crashes but he would show some flashes of brilliance with a few top five rides. We were all kind of waiting to see how he would respond during the outdoor series after a year of experience on the bigger machine under his belt. His 2015 outdoor season was solid with a number of top fives sprinkled with a few podiums but we expected a little more from him
after his absolutely dominant run in the 250 class. At the opening round at Hangtown this year, we caught a glimpse of the old ‘El Chupacabra’. He finished a hard earned third passing Tomac late in the race. He looked quick and aggressive but that would all come tumbling down in the second moto. He went down in the closing laps breaking his collarbone. A huge letdown after an impressive third in moto one but the Factory Suzuki rider opted for surgery to quicken recovery. He will make his return this weekend at Muddy Creek and we hope that the injury won’t dampen the speed and quickness he had at Hangtown.
