Adam Cianciarulo got a taste of the lead early in moto two last weekend at High Point and was craving for more at Muddy Creek. He was clearly fired up in qualifying practice because he threw down the fastest lap time in the 250 class. He was ready to go. AC rocketed his Monster Energy Pro Circuit
Kawasaki out of the gate in the opening moto and into the early lead. He nailed the holeshot and started to extend his lead a bit in the first few laps. But just as he got rolling, he would tuck the front end in the finish line corner and drop back to third place. He regained his composure and began tracking down Jordon Smith for second determined to get back to the front. He was all over the rear end of the Geico Honda rider and would finally be able to make the pass stick with twelve minutes left in the race. Then as the race began to wind down, AC would go down yet again and drop back to twelfth place. He would grab one spot before the end of the moto but the eleventh place finish had to sting knowing he could have easily had the win or the second place spot. AC got another great start in moto two but would be in fifth place instead of the lead after one. He looked good and inherited fourth after his teammate Joey Savatgy would tip over. He seemed to have a solid moto going but he would go down once again. He remounted in eighteenth place but he would never recover. He continuously lost position throughout the rest of
the moto and would end up twenty-second. Finishing 11-22 has to be extra frustrating for AC because of how great he was doing early in both motos. Hopefully he doesn’t let those crashes get to him because if he can keep it on two wheels, he’d easily finish
right up inside that top five and maybe even the podium.
