With the short, abrupt track layout, which is Muddy Creek, Aaron Plessinger’s characteristically bad
starts were something he was forced to change when taking place behind the gate. And wouldn’t you know it, the time he gets a decent start, the young man lay’s it over just prior to cresting the finish line jump on lap two. He had his work cut out for him. A feeling of digging and frantically charging through the pack is all too familiar for Plessinger, as he had moved back up to 14th as the race neared the halfway point. Gleaming in sweat from the sauna like temperatures, the humidity began to slowly drain the field, and Plessinger alike. He would hang onto fourteenth and look to rebound for the next moto. The offensive rebound would be unfortunately shut down by an absurd block, if we’re talking basketball terms, when Plessinger found himself laying on the ground just outside of turn one, tangled with Martin Davalos; he sat 36th in the opening moments. Plowing his way to 19th, two thirds of the way into the race, he was adamant about regaining any point he possibly could. Pivoting his way around the treacherous valley, the gap of the leaders was too strung out by the time he got into a groove. Finishing a disappointing 13th, he would claim 13th overall.
