Round five of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series was a quiet day for the Cycle Trader Rock River Yamaha rider. Qualifying outside the top twenty in practice and only being able to salvage a 22nd place finish in moto one, the day was not going as planned for Colt Nichols. After recovering from the first moto heat and humidity, Nichols lined up for moto two with intentions of scoring as much points as possible. Starting on the very first inside gate, Nichols immediately got pinched off when the gate dropped. Progressively moving forward throughout the race, Colt passed his way up to 14th place before the moto came to an end. 22-14 moto scores left Colt Nichols 19th overall on the day.
