Nick Wey woke up to a very sloppy track in Gillette stadium. Nick was able to put in some solid laps in the first practice session and looked to get a little more comfortable in the 2nd and final practice of the morning. Nick was able to find his flow and went into the day program with a 16th in qualifying. The veteran got a decent start in 450 Heat 2 and was running 11th at the end of the
first lap. He was only able to make his way up to 10th and would go on to the next qualifier. Nick got off to a decent start in the Semi and found himself running 6th on the first lap. He went on to finish in the same position and would set his focus on qualifying through the next one. When the LCQ began, it was now or never for Nick, and he got off to great start and came around the first lap in the 3rd position. He made his way into the 2nd position by the time the checkers flew, and would go on to the Main Event. Nick got a decent jump but his poor gate choice was the cause of ultimately a poor start. Nick had his work cut out for him and was barely inside the top 20 on lap 1. Midway through the race, Nick had made up some time and had climbed up to a respectable 14th position. As Nick navigated the rutted track, he lost one position, but was still sitting inside the top 15. The Michigan native would finish the Main in 15th position; his third top 15 finish of the year.
