>> After an incredible moto podium and fourth place overall finish at Redbud
last weekend, it was time for Mitchell Harrison to use his newfound confidence
to truly come out of his shell and shine at Southwick this weekend. The sun was shining and the Massachusetts air was humid as the number 45 machine lined up for the first 250 moto of the day, prepared to prove himself a true contender. The gates dropped and battling was officially underway. The Yamalube/ Star Rac- ing/ Yamaha rider quickly found himself in a solid sixth place spot railing out of the grainy sand filled first corner. Harrison fell back to seventh on the opening lap after a pass from Osborne, but he did not let that take away his focus from the true task at hand. By the halfway point, Mitchell Harrison was back in the sixth place position. The confidence within Harrison was evident as the checkered flag waved and he finished the first moto in sixth, a great position to be in moving forward into the second moto. The Michigan native was off to another good start after the second moto gate drop and sat in seventh place early in the race. A new obstacle presented itself around the halfway point for these riders: torrential rain. Harrison fell back to eighth after a pass by Chase Sexton, but was able to steal seventh back from Chase before the end of the mentally and physically exhaust- ing moto. With 6-7 finishes, Mitchell Harrison left Southwick with a seventh place overall finish. Harrison has been putting on some impressive performances this season and hopefully round eight at Spring Creek will be another great ride by the number forty-five.
