>> After a finish within the top ten last weekend at Redbud, Geico Honda’s Chase Sexton arrived at Southwick looking for similar or better results. The number 486 machine lined up for the first 250 moto ready to prove himself on one of the roughest tracks in the circuit. The thirty-second board was high in the Massachusetts sky and the riders were off. Chase Sexton did not find the start that he was looking for when he came out of the first turn in the eigh- teenth place spot. The Wick 338 was tough, but Chase Sexton was tougher as he worked his way through the competitive pack. Proving that all of his hard training is paying off, Sexton made the pass on Renzland for ninth place. The Illinois native was able to cross the finish line in a very commendable and well-earned ninth place. Moving forward into the second moto, Chase Sexton knew how important the start would be if he wanted the results that he knew that he was capable of. The gates dropped and it was mission accomplished as Sexton quickly found himself in the eighth place spot as he flew out of
the first corner. The top ten were deep in battle when the rain started to fall around the halfway point. With conditions worsening, it was officially a fight to the finish. With determination, Chase Sexton did not let the roughening terrain or Mother Nature get the best of him as he went past the checkered flag in the eighth place position. With 9-8 finishes, Chase Sexton left Southwick with an awesome eighth place overall. Hopefully Chase can carry this momentum to round eight at Spring Creek and produce another top ten, or maybe even a top five, overall.
