>> Up and down weekend for Dakota Alix who is a new member in the 450 class. Alix finished 11th in timed qualifying and it looked like the Southwick track fit his riding style nicely. Dakota started the first race exactly how any racer would want with a Holeshot. Unfortunately Alix made a small mistake while crossing the holeshot line which left his teammate Blake Baggett no- where to go but directly into Alix. Dakota went from first to last in the matter of seconds. Mid way through the moto Alix was back into the points, he eventual- ly finished 17th. Alixs start in moto two wasn’t initially better then his moto one start but the outcome was much better as he started inside of the top 5. Alix was able to run inside of the top 10 for the next 9 minutes of racing. When the checkered flag flew Alix came away with his best finish thus far in 2017 sea- son. This is Alix’s first year racing in the 450 class and he has adapted nicely thus far. We have just passed the midway point in the series and Dakota has put in his best finish of the year. What can we expect from the #70 in the sec- ond half of the season, will he be good enough to secure a ride in 2018.
