would he lose sight of Swoll out front, but had the possibility of being over taken by Hardy Munoz behind him. But, in veteran like fashion, he would remain composed, fending off the number 73 who
sat behind. Screaming past the
mechanics area, he would be
signaled for an all clear, and one
more time around. Dragging the
footpegs through these ankle
deep ruts, he would caress the
machine around the circuit one
more time, eyeing the checkered
flag with salivating delight. And
as of lap nine, when all was said
and done, he would come across
the line second, ready to place
the silver medal around his neck.
His motocross finishes would
shed light too, on his potential
for the AMA professional level.
An eighth, two fifth’s, and a third,
would be placed in the like of
Shimoda and his camp. Shi-
moda’s been surging as of late,
and as he and crew head into
the 2019 season, he will attack
to the fullest extent. Those in the industry know exactly what he is capable of, and with things falling his way, he could be on the path of destruction, claiming every title in sight in the coming months.

a threat to win the heat races in which he was placed, with many of his competitors unenthused that he would be placed in their
would line up for the Schoolboy 2 division, and as everyone knows, this is one of the hottest classes of the week, year after year. But Frye wasn’t going to bow down to any-
one, and pulled off a start that was beyond pleasing to all in his crew. He would continue to back it up, leading lap after lap, until the last flag would wave. Yet another title would be penciled in, and he would launch into the outdoor scene with confidence oozing from the shell of his helmet. Starting the week of soundly, a win in the Schoolboy class showed that he was able to adapt to any type of rac- ing surface, leaving the pack behind him in dismay. He would go onto simply clean house throughout the duration of the event, being one of the hottest riders on the roster. That one aforementioned victory, would turn into five overall championships, with his worst finish coming with a slight hiccup in the 250 B Supercross class, still generating a sixth. He was simply on rails, and Jarrett Frye truly was the man with the bulls eye on
his back when leaving the facility.
DEVON SIMONSON
Looking into the professional ranks over the past few years, you’re quick to notice just
how much the Carolina area is flour- ishing with talent; and in particular, that of the Northern portioned territory. With riders like Webb, Smith, and McElrath all at the heights of profes- sionalism, it’s as though their aura has rubbed off on the local scene, and gave a boost of momentum to
all upcoming prospects calling the region home. Enter Devon Simon- son, a young man out of Laurinburg, North Carolina, who’s steadily worked his way up to being a threat on the national level. His training regimen is as solid as they come, and he looked at the 2018 Winter Olympics as a platform to really show his worth, and to prove that he can run the pace of even the fastest riders from around the globe. Riding in all four of the intermediate divisions, his heat race finishes never deviated from either a win or second place! A spectacular effort, he would come into the runoffs
filled to the brim with confidence, and just itched for the gate to fall. Beginning with a sixth place in the 250 B Limited division, it was as though he finished stronger, as the competition would rise; claiming a stellar

FRYE
The last name Frye has been synonymous with amateur motocross for
many of the past years, with
Alex Frye taking the sport by
storm. Moving on throughout
his career, there’s now been
another competitor, (from the
same area to be exact) who’s
looking to outdo his predeces-
sor, and establish a legacy of
his own. And he’s already in
route to doing so, as Jarrett
Frye is an athlete who embod-
ies all of the outstanding quali-
ties that make up a champion-
ship caliber rider. Strong starts,
sound stamina, and a hint of
fearlessness that show’s when vying for a championship. He would bring it all, and then some, to the gate for the 2018 Winter Olympics, eyeing the rounds of Supercross with amazement and hoping to walk away
toe with talent. Adapting to the 450 machine in efficient fashion, he would be in route to his first championship of the week, coming across the line and flexing to the crown, tak- ing the win with no questions asked. He then
