to fit a faster, more aggressive style track. Solidifying herself in the eldest division, she would pilot the machine to a strong showing in seventh overall. And then, looking to dupli- cate the success she had previously earned, she hopped into the midst of the pack of
girls in the (9-13) class. Her moto finishes of fourth and third, would shoot her into fourth overall, and satisfied with how well her week went as a whole.
TAYLER ALLRED
When many industry insiders were jotting down their picks for top contenders in the Girls’ divisions, you would be hard to find a sheet without the name of Tayler Allred at the top of the list. A tried and true competitor, her family eats, sleeps, and breathes the sport of motocross racing, doing whatever necessary for their last name to be represented proudly. There was no question as to whether they would end up attending the event, so leaving from Riverton, Utah, the crew would pack up, and make their way to Gainesville, Florida, for the 2018 Winter National Olympics event. With the variety and vast amount of awards and championships to be won at this event, Allred hoped to come away with a plethora of strong finishes; the question was though, how many, and to what extent? She would begin to prove her worth in the opening heat of the Girls (12-16) Division, with the likes
of Jazzmyn Canfield, Mikayla Nielsen, and Katie Benson battling their hearts out for a podium finish. Sporting a number 34 KTM, early on she would find herself neck and neck with the likes of Canfield, an all too fa- miliar foe out of Deltona, Florida. With Allred pulling the holeshot, she would do all she

Her ability to change plans on a time allowed her to keep moving forward, chasing after leader Mikayla Nielsen. Not trailing Nielsen by very far, she would come across the line happy with her result, hoping to duplicate for the run-off. It would then happen in her favor as well, as another strong start would place her in the front of the field to start the run- off. Again behind Nielsen, her number 213 Husqvarna was doing all it could to slash through the ruts of this treacherous track. She would leave it all out on the raceway, claiming an exceptional second place finish, and silver medal position! Looking to reiter- ate her Supercross performance, Nielsen would do the exact same as she did just a few days before, vying for true podium con- tention. Jumping in and out of these gigantic valleys, she showed absolutely no fear in going for the race win, and giving Nielsen
a run for her money. Displaying her best effort every time she was on the track, two second place finishes would generate her with another congratulatory, runner-up finish in the overall standings. Many of the fans in attendance would agree, that Stallings was on the brink of doing big things for 2019.
BROOKE BOWLIN
Brooke “Bowlin” for wins, was knocking down pins left and right, on her way to a successful outing at the 2018 Winter Olym- pics, here in Gainesville, Florida. Replac- ing the pins for moto finishes, the number 48 Suzuki rider was a rider with poise and composure throughout her duration of this amateur national championship. With riders like Mikayla Nielsen, and Kyleigh Stallings in her class, she knew her work would be
cut out for her, yet she would stay resilient and cool as a cucumber under pressure. With her bike setup on point, and her riding style suited
for this Floridian soil, there was a certain aura in the air, that was just a guaranteed feeling of her doing well. Competing in both the Girls (9-13) and (12-16) classes, she was facing young women of all ages, statures, and
skill levels. It didn’t matter to her though, as all she was worried about was herself, and how well she would fair for the overall standing as the week concluded. Trailing the likes of Nielsen and Stallings in the early going, she found herself in a heated battle with Jorgia Watson. With the top
four seemingly on rails, Bowlin found it within herself to stay controlled and poised, never settling for a fact of a complacent attitude. After the checkered flag would fly, she would be placed in fourth place. Looking to better her score, she would shift out of the gate flawlessly for the second moto, hoping to land on the podium in a division as tough
as this. Even though she wasn’t as experi- enced on the Supercross styled tracks, she truly looked comfortable from the fence line. Doubling obstacles whenever she could, she would even through in a charismatic flick of the chassis every now and then, proving to her team that she was enjoying the process and having fun on one of the sports biggest stages. Running laptimes near the one minute, twenty-four
second mark, she was definitely keeping the first two in the pack well within her sights. It would reiterate and reign encouragement throughout her mind- set, propelling her
to be into third place on the white flag lap. With seemingly one more circuit to go, she would carry on, finish- ing third and excited for the motocross portion of the event. As the latter days of the week would come to the forefront, she and team would adjust the bike accordingly
