RESULTS DONOT LIE
headed to the race at Gatorback Cycle Park, confident that he was as prepared as pos- sible. With a flashy number 16 etched across his number plate, he would begin the Su- percross section of racing with a flurry of top five finishes. Littered with fifths, fourths, and seconds alike, he would combine a two moto score into a solid overall position, for the class of Mini Sr. (12-15). A placing of eighth had him inside the top ten, giving him a boost of morale, and eagerness to step foot on the outdoor soil. With a seventh, third, and first as his numerical scores going into this last and
final motos, Gilmore wanted to turn up the heat as
this track became rougher and rougher. Standing
up charg- ing these corners aggres- sively, he would wade through
the long
ruts with a
sense of
calm and
precision
about him,
never once making a serious mistake. With runs like these, there was no shortage in his abundance of strong finishes, starting with the Mini Sr. (12-15) run. Taking a noteworthy sixth overall, he was around the top in the sport, really showing everyone in the class what he was truly made of. Looking to keep moving in forward fashion, the (12-15) Lim- ited division saw him battle for a podium spot all throughout the moto. It was in the final moments, where he knew he’d had the spot secured, and would fly across the checkered flag stoked on his run. His best performance of the week though, would come in the (12- 13) Limited group; taking a one-two moto score, he would pack a punch to the division, sending all in his class on notice. Second overall was his for the taking, and he could retreat back to MTF knowing he had left it all on the track.
REVEN GORDON
Tearing up the race way and “revving” his way to promising results, Reven Gordon
searched far and wide for competition in the latter part of the 2018 season. Looking to up- hold his consistency and career he’s made for himself thus far, he traveled to the 2018 Winter National Olympics in Gainesville, Florida, eyeing pristine finishes, hoping to add to the resume he’d previously created. Hailing from Atascadero, California, Gordon and crew would pack up everything in their arsenal, attempting to take the 85cc (12-13) Limited division by storm. Accumulating a plethora of solid finishes for the beginning of the SX portion, he had no heat race score
worse than a seventh, taking a win and a fifth, third, and win along the way as well. With he too sporting a Husqvar- na brand, all of his sponsors were extremely impressed with the amount
of finesse and
flare he
displayed aboard a track this technical. Whether it was by landing the jumps in a smooth and controlled manner, or pivoting on a dime in the apex
of a bowl turn, Gordon was on the get up
and go in his search for an overall podium finish. As the run-off’s of the Supercross finale would loom near, he would come away blistering with multiple sixth place finishes to begin. Always searching for more, he continued
to climb the ladder of ascension, receiving
a fourth place finish in the finale of (12-13) Limited class. With all in the event moving to the other side of the facility, he would begin

to mesh with the outdoor course early on. It was an easy adjustment, as it was though the faster he could go, the more comfortable he became. No matter how big the hill, steep the climb, or choppy the straight away, the young man from California would continue to shift up. Rummaging a seventh overall to be- gin his outdoor festivities, it would all come together in the class of 85cc (12-13) Limited. It was a constant battle everytime he was on the track, with guys like Gilmore, Deegan, and other big names in constant array of
his proximity. He couldn’t ever be flustered, making sure that his focus was on the track in front of him, and that ground only. Here, a piecing of multiple third place finishes would generate him with an exceptional, third place overall. It was results like these, that made the trek back to California that much sweeter.
WAYNE WELZIEN
The 2018 Winter Olympics in Gainesville, Florida, for the likes of Wayne Welzien,
can be summarized in the title of “Wayne’s World.” An electrifying competitor looking
to rekindle the spark of his youth, he eyed the outdoor course here at the Gatorback Facility with great strides of enthusiasm. Traveling from Wisconsin, he hoped to leave the cold wintry mess of the northern state behind, and generate an abundance of heat with both his finish on the track, and the pure speed he would carry around the circuit. With both bike and body heating up, he would go on to take the track by storm throughout the practice session, being cre- ative with his line selection. Mixing it up, by trying both outside and inside navigations,
