Nick quickly established himself as the fastest privateer again in New Jersey. With only factory backed team efforts in front of him, Nick’s confidence builds every time he gets on the track. Nick ended up 23rd fastest and was ready to get the racing started in MetLife stadium. When 450 Heat 2 began, Nick
knew he would have his work cut out for him to go directly to the Main. He started mid pack and was only able to finish in around the same position. In the Semi, he was able to jump into qualifying position briefly but was surrounded by factory riders. Unfortunately, he hit the dirt and would go on to the LCQ. Nick got a fantastic start in his last chance qualifier and quickly got into the lead. By lap 2, he lost the lead to a hard charging Benny Bloss but held on to 2nd place all the way to the finish. Nick would keep his Main Event streak alive. He was eager to break into the top 15 in New Jersey but a poor start slimmed his chances. On the 2nd lap, Nick was running 20th place and did his best to put down some clean laps. He would eventually finish in 21st and set his sights on finishing the series strong next weekend in Vegas with another Main Event finish.
