The day started out strong in Metlife Stadium for @aaronplessinger_23, finishing 3rd overall in timed qualifying with a 47.326 just behind points leader Malcolm Stewart and fellow teammate
Jeremy Martin. If you were able to watch 250 heat number two, you would have seen Plessinger put in a miraculous charge that would only put a smile on your face. I mean if your significant other doesn’t enjoy racing, a quick way to change that is to watch that race. The Yamalube/ Star Racing Yamaha rider started in 13th and was all the way up to fourth by the end of the sec- ond lap. A game of cat and mouse between Bowers and Mcelrath helped the duo of Yamaha riders catch up for the lead. Shane made a huge mistake off of the diamond back with 3 laps remaining, nearly putting him on the dirt. Both Martin and Plessinger took advantage and made pass at the end of the rhythm section just before the tunnel jump. With just three laps remaining it looked as AP23 was going to settle for 3rd. The young rider hit another gear with just over half of a lap left and started to make moves for positions. Plessinger used a jump on, jump off rhythm to get around his teammate Martin with just two corners left. There was now only a tunnel jump, a whoop section and a left hand turn to go and Aaron set himself on the left hand side of the whoops and made a brilliant block pass on Bowers for the win. You just had to feel like it was going to be his night to win by the time the main event rolled around. The 30 second board went up and the 250 class was ready to hit the stage for their second last time of the year, and a East Coast Championship on the line. The gate dropped to the MetLife Stadium floor and the racers battled for the holeshot. Plessinger starting all the way back in 16th put him on the charge once again. By the mid way mark of the race Plessinger was up to 6th, but the damage was already done and the top five where well ahead of Aaron. The second year supercross rider of Plessinger put his head down for one more position on lap 11 to keep his top 5 streak going, and limit point deficit to Stewart. @aaronplessinger_23 has one main event left to make up 14 points to Malcolm and rubbing is racing could be a quote that we will all be saying by the time a champion is crowned in Vegas.
