Overcoming a horrendous practice crash, Trey yet again showcased his tenacity by lining up
on the gate for the night festivities. Rub a little grease on the wounds, strap on an ace bandage,
and he’s ready for the bell to ring. Round one, Canard quickly latched onto the champion, Ryan Dungey, and looked to set a pace the rest of the field couldn’t hold. A change up with Chad Reed would ensue however, disrupting the plans that the 41 appeared to have. Third following lap one, he would settle until two to go, when the impatience began to overcome. He forced Reed wide, and secured second position; finishing here, thankful for a spot in the main. Equipped with his painters uniform (all white jersey and pants), from the outside looking in, it would appear as though Canard didn’t plan on obtaining an ounce of roost to his body; well, fate had other ideas, as Canard shuffled near tenth place in the beginning segments of the 450 main. Duking it out with the likes of Broc Tickle, TC41 finally managed to squeeze the life out of the RCH rider on lap five, and move into ninth, where he trailed fellow “sooner”, Justin Bogle. The two located a dwindling Weston Peick, and once the rookie made his move, TC followed suit. He couldn’t let the younger fellow outdo him however, and Canard managed to garner enough energy to dash past the 19; he now sat seventh with nine to go. Canard looked to have seventh in the bag, but the duo of Jason Anderson and Marvin Musquin didn’t show anyone mercy, and shoved Trey to the back of the line. With a shuffling of positions, Canard would cross the checkered flag in eighth place, a result he looks to build on heading into the finale.
