As the 250 class dug tread into brownie-esque track conditions at Metlife stadium, Audette poured the coals to his Pro Circuit Kawasaki, hoping to impress Mitch Payton yet again. An eighth place start didn’t enlighten the Minnesota native, however, he proceeded to complete the
task at hand, and pick off any rider he could. After a brief battle and overtaking of Justin Starling, he eyed another Floridian, that of RJ Hampshire. Although a remarkable effort was given, the newfound PC signee couldn’t make the move, and would finish seventh. The factory machine didn’t prevail on this start unfortunately, as Audette sat thirteenth across the opening stripe. Leap-frogging past the competition, he hovered near the twelfth position until lap five. It was here, that a pileup beneath the over-under would cause a traffic jam of sorts throughout the middle portion of the field, and as a result, Audette inherited multiple positions; he sat just inside the top ten nearing the halfway point. Residing in ninth for the majority of the moto, Audette made sure to hit his marks, and take each section as it came. He sat eighth with four to go, looking through his scope, and zooming in on the 64 of Dakota Alix. Steady, steady, pull the trigger, and BAM; Alix fell to the wrath of Gannon, resulting in a seventh place finish on the evening. Not spectacular, but finishing just behind his teammate Tyler Bowers eased the pain, and the outlook towards Vegas remained positive.
