>> With the West coast championship already taken Aaron Plessinger was looking to steal some points heading into the final round. Battling with Shane Mcelrath for the second-place position in the points chase, he had to finish several positions ahead of the KTM rider. Heading into the night the Starr Rac- ing Yamaha rider got a good start in his heat race that placed him in a transfer position off the get go. He was able to make two more passes before the finish that left him in 6th place transferring on to the main event. Avoiding the messy pile up off the start of the main, Plessinger was running 14th through the first lap and quickly jumped up a position into 13th. Racing at a steady rate he
was able to catch the crowd in front him passing guys left and right until he made his way into 7th place. After Savatgy makes a mistake, the Star Racing Yamaha rider was able to gain another position up to 6th, a huge comeback from where he started the racing. He moved into 5th after Hayden Mellross made a mistake then started chasing down his next victim. Battling hard with Dylan Ferrandis for multiple laps, he was finally able to stick the pass after go- ing back and forth a handful of times. Now in 3rd Plessinger managed to pass half the field and finish off the final race of the season on the podium. Even with his incredible finish it wasn’t quite enough to get around Mcelrath for 2nd in points. Getting a 3rd place championship and finishing the season off with a bang it was a successful year for the young Yamaha rider.
