The night didn’t start too good for Colt Nichols making a mistake off the heat race start. Running all the way back in 20th on lap one, he had to fight his way to qualifying position through the
very short race. Each lap he moved up a few positions making his way into 10th by the last lap. Only a few sections before the finish he gets the pass he needed to move onto the main. The CycleTrader Yamaha rider got a decent start running around 13th on the first lap. He works his way up through the crowd settling into 10th around lap five. The race began to wind down and Nichols moved up to 9th with five to go. Then a lap later he is in 7th. Another lap goes by Nichols is up to 6th. Making all these last minute passes on the final lap he begins to battle with Oldenburg, but didn’t have quite enough time to make the pass. Nich- ols finishes off the main event with a solid 6th place finish.
