>> Daxton Bennick had an incredible week of racing at the 2017 JS7 Free- stone Spring Championship as he snatched three number one plates to take with him back to the east coast. The North Carolina native committed to racing three 65cc classes as well as two 85cc classes, and was able to grab titles
on both bikes. In the 65cc (10-11) Limited class, Bennick won both motos in impressive fashion. He stormed through the pack in the first race, coming from outside the top five to make a pass for the lead on the last lap. In the second moto, he pulled the holeshot as he forced his way through the first corner, separating himself from the pack immediately. Bennick laid down the fastest laptime of the race on the very first full lap, cementing himself in first position with aggression. In the (10-11) Mod class, the Orange Brigade rider was able to do the same thing as he put on another disappearing act from the front of the field, proving that he’s hard to hang with when he can get out front early. In the second moto, Bennick found himself in a battle with his Team Dunlop Elite teammate, Haiden Deegan, and the two of them battled it out for the win. The young Californian was able to edge him out for the victory, but Bennick’s over- all finish put him in position for the number one plate. He wasn’t able to grab the holeshot in the first 85cc (9-10) Limited moto and he found himself tucked in behind Julien Beaumer. The Arizona native was setting a strong pace at the front of the field, but Bennick kept it cool and continued to stalk him until the midpoint of the moto. He laid down the fastest time of the race as he attempt- ed to launch an assault on the lead, but he wasn’t able to close the gap before the checkered flag. He redeemed himself off the line in the second moto as his Dunlop tires propelled him to a clear holeshot ahead of the competition, setting himself up for a dominant victory, and his third title of the contest.
