>> Tayler Allred had an exceptional week of results at the 2017 JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The Utah native felt right at home in the sweltering Texas conditions as she never finished outside the top five throughout any of the classes that she entered. Most notably, Allred put together two moto wins in order to snag the number one plate in the Girls Jr. (9-13) class, but she also fought
her way to a third place finish in the Girls Sr. (12-16) class, a fifth overall in the Women (12+) class, and a fifth overall in Schoolgirl (12-16). Allred was practically untouchable in the (9-13) class as she dominated both motos from start to finish. In the first moto, she shot down the start straight on her KTM rocket ship and secured the lead within the first couple of corners, swatting off her competitors as if they were flies. The Utah native was able to pick up the pace early on and set the fastest lap time of the race on the very first flying lap, expanding a gap of al- most ten seconds by the time two laps had elapsed. From that point onward, she continued to eek out an advantage ahead of the homestate girl, Cami Samples, and she eventually took the checkered flag with an advantage of more than thirty seconds ahead of her competitors. The second moto was more of the same for Allred as she fought her way to an early advantage yet again, fending off an early attack from California’s Mikalya Nielsen. She continued to impress with her early race intensity as she threw down the fastest laptime of the moto on the first time of trying, cementing herself in the lead with a gap of almost ten seconds after just two laps. Allred rode with her wits about her as she kept it smooth and consistent for the remainder of the race, relying on the enormous gap that she had accumu- lated. She backed off a little bit in the waning laps of the moto, simply cruising to the checkered flag with an advantage of almost twenty seconds in hand. Allred certainly made a statement as she won both motos in dominant fashion, undoubt- edly making some waves as she grabbed the number one plate.
