RYAN DUNGEY
At thirty-one consecutive podium finishes, an active record breaking accomplishment,
the defending champion has all but wrapped up the 2016 supercross championship. Enter round sixteen of the season at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey this past weekend. With only two races left, and a 43-point lead, Ryan Dungey came into Saturday night needing to finish 14th or better, if, that is, Ken Roczen was able to muster a win. If Ryan accomplished the feat, it would lock up his second straight championship and the third 450 title of his premier class career, dating back to 2010. This year specifically, though, racking up points throughout all the battles along the way, nothing has caused the red-plated #1 to falter or stumble. Week after week, the Red Bull KTM maintains a top position utilizing starts, speed and the skill of handling the intense pressure that the yellow #94 brings to the table. With stability and control, Dungey infiltrated the confines of New Jersey to repeat his recent history and move one step further in his already dominant supercross stardom.
