>> Many outsider’s, if not too familiar with the sport, feel as though the 250 class is considered a “second-tier” if you will, to the elder 450 division. Com- mon misconceptions have this group under a variety of labels, but once they see the raw, pure speed of this group, their mind’s are quickly changed. There’s absolutely nothing “rookie” about riders such as Dylan Ferrandis. Twisting the throttle from the womb, he has fought through the trenches to
get to this point in his career, and the amount of both talent and technique he possesses is unreal. He was out to prove a point to both fans in attendance, and on television, that he could truly be called one of the best in the world. With the 40 heads of the division bowing in unison as they gazed at the pin beneath them, the field stormed off, and he was ravaging through the opening sequences. Pushing his way into the foremost part of the field, after an 11th place start, the laps were ticking off and he was thriving. Sliding his rear end into the tapered off cambers, his body acting as a separate piece of traction as he weighted the outside peg. He was used to this somewhat hard-packed soil, lugging the bike a gear tall through the deepest of trenches, it would pay off, fighting his way around Adam Cianciarulo, and many other of the nation’s best; he would finish fourth. After the gate dropped for moto number two, he would find himself in the fifth position. The number 108 would gain time as
the track dried out, reminiscing on his days from the native French land. He would be caught mid-moto by Zach Osborne, being overtaken on the outside as they wheelied through the downhill roller section. He would try his best to latch on to that pace, hooking the number 16, but not being able to overtake the number 23 as the Husqvarna rider did. He would finish fourth, completing his fourth overall effort.
