Chronic Problems Cast Cloud Over California's Marijuana Mecca
By Chris Morris
An envisioned pot paradise is on the rocks.
American Green, which had planned to trans- form the ghost town of Nipton, Calif. to a mari- juana tourist des- tination, has sold the city, saying it could not raise the money need- ed to build what it envisioned.
The company, one of the first publicly traded businesses spe- cializing in the legal cannabis space, bought Nipton for $5 mil- lion last year. It sold the town (population 20)
to Delta Internatio
nal Oil & Gas for $7.7 million.
The sale, says American Green, includes a provi- sion that it contin- ue the transfor- mation efforts of the 80-acre town. It says it has signed a contract to develop the town for the next five to10 years.
Where those efforts stand now is unclear. Originally, though, the company said it hoped to offer attractions includ- ing CBD (a chem- ical found in cannabis) and mineral baths, cannabis-product retail outposts, artists-in-resi- dence programs, and various culi-
nary events. It also planned to use it as a pro- duction hub for cannabis-based products— includ- ing CBD-infused water.
Even if it does manage to turn Nipton into a weed wonder- land, American General could have some com- petition for pot tourists. Former heavyweight box- ing
champion Mike Tyson has already broken ground on a 40- acre ranch in California that aims to be
a cannabis
resort for growers and enthusiasts of the drug.
EugenieBouchard: Genie Gets Called Out By CEO After EatingPizzaDippedInTHIS
Eugenie Bouchard, 24, also known as Genie Bouchard, has attracted the attention of a company CEO after posting a strange pizza soy sauce food combination.
The gorgeous blonde tennis star is known for her bikini body, Instagram account with 1.7 followers and Sports Illustrated mod- elling career.
However, today she shocked her fans world-
wide
with the particu- larly unexpect- ed food choice, posting a photo of a pizza slice being tipped into a tray of soy sauce.
She confidently captioned the picture: “Pizza dipped in soy sauce. I’m telling you.”
The post gained the attention of Kikkoman CEO, Mr Shimada, who tested out the pizza and soy sauce com- bination him- self.
Kikkoman USA posted a hilari- ous video of the experiment. They captioned it: “Ignore the doubters.
“We tested this out and came to the conclu- sion that you are right (and also that you are indeed our spirit animal).”
Eugenie was clearly very excited by the call out, retweeting the video with the caption: “THIS IS AMAZING”.
