GOP Chairman: Kids Are "Brainwashed" On Climate Change
Sen. James Inhofe says school children are being “brainwashed” into believing in climate change and that parents need to “un-brainwash” them.
Inhofe, an outspoken cli- mate change skeptic and chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said he came to the realiza- tion when his grand- daughter challenged him on his denial of the sci- ence behind global warming.
“Our kids are being brainwashed,” the Oklahoma Republican told conservative radio host Eric Metaxas on a recent appearance reported by the liberal blog Right Wing Watch.
“My own granddaughter came home one day and
said ... ‘Popi, why is it you don’t understand global warming?’ I did some checking, and Eric, the stuff that they teach our kids nowadays, they are brainwashed — you have to un-brainwash them when they get out,” Inhofe said.
Inhofe has made a name
for himself nationally for doubting the scientific consensus that the cli- mate is changing and human activity through greenhouse gas emis- sions is the principal cause.
He threw a snowball on the Senate floor in early 2015 to protest President Obama’s positions on cli-
mate change.
He wrote a book in 2012 declaring climate change the “greatest hoax” per- petrated on humanity and has fought hard against nearly every Democratic policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

First American To Have A Double Hand Transplant Wants Them Removed
The first American to have a double hand transplant seven years ago now says he wants them removed because they have never worked.
Jeff Kepner underwent the pioneering surgery back in 2010 after losing his hands to sepsis that started from a throat infection.
The case captured world headlines and Mr Kepner appeared on TV along- side his triumphant doc- tors reporting on the potentially groundbreak- ing operation.
But Mr Kepner told Time Magazine his hopes for a normal life have been
well and truly crushed.
“From day one I have never been able to use my hands,” Mr Kepner said of the lifeless appendages that came from a donor.
“I can do absolutely nothing. I sit in my chair all day and wear my TV out.”
Mr Kepner said he had always assumed he would be able to have the hands removed if the operation wasn’t a suc-
cess but has now been told by doctors it is not that simple to reverse the procedure.
Dr. Vijay Gorantla, who
is overseeing Mr Kepner’s case, told Time Magazine it’s uncertain if Mr Kepner would be able to use pros- thetics if the hands were removed, and that rigorous physical ther- apy would be required.
The surgeon who led Mr Kepner’s
transplant, Dr. W.P. Andrew Lee, said most people who have had double hand transplants have gone on to have functioning hands which
allow them to lead an almost normal life.
The need for removal had only occurred in six out of 100 similar trans- plants in the US and Europe, Dr Lee said.
Before the operation Mr Kepler said he was 75 percent functional with the use of prosthetics, but now he was zero percent functional.
But despite his hard- ships, Mr Kepler said he did not bear any ill will to the doctors who per- formed his operation.
“That’s the chance you take,” he says, “and that’s the chance I took.”
