Man Who Faked Being
Disabled Teen To Get Diaper
Changed Arrested Again
By Yaron Steinbuch
He’s still full of crap.
A Louisiana man who admitted to tricking a health care worker into changing his adult diaper by pre- tending to be disabled has been charged with attempted human trafficking for alleged- ly pulling the same stinky stunt.
Rutledge Deas IV, 31, of Metairie, was arrested last week after detectives inves- tigated a text mes- sage in which he claimed to be engaged in “alterna- tive therapy” and offered to pay a baby- sitter to change his diapers.
He allegedly posed as a younger man with special needs and “tried to recruit the victim to solicit other baby sitters to care for him,” State Police said in a statement.
Deas was arrested at his home Thursday,
charged with one count of attempted human trafficking and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
In November 2019, he was charged with 10 counts each of sexual battery and human trafficking after authorities said he
posted fake ads online to lure in unsuspecting health care workers.
Investigators found that Deas used social media ads to falsely claim he was seeking home health care for his 18-year-old broth- er “Cory,” whom he described as “mental-
ly and physically handicapped.”
He then posed as “Cory” while “allowing the care provider to change his adult dia- per and obtain sexual arousal under the false pretenses of being handicapped,” police said at the time.
The victim eventually became suspicious and discovered that Deas had made up “Cory.”
In December 2020, Deas pleaded guilty to the charges and was placed on proba- tion.
