Deputies Find 18,000 Pounds of Toilet Paper In
Stolen Tractor-trailer Truck
WHITSETT, N.C. —
Deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office discovered 18,000 pounds of toilet paper in stolen tractor- trailer truck during a traffic stop
Wednesday.
Sheriff Danny Rogers said deputies initiated a traffic investiga- tion involving the 18-wheeler along Interstate 40 in Whitsett after a motor vehicle law
violation.
Investigators said they followed the vehicle to a ware- house/dock facili- ty a short dis- tance off of the interstate and encountered the driver.
Deputies deter- mined the 53-foot Hyundai dry-van trailer was report- ed stolen locally and was being utilized to trans- port nearly 18,000 pounds of commercial bath-
room paper prod- ucts.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
