By Sidrah Naqvi
Police in Los Angeles have arrested a man they believe is connected to more than 30 bur- glaries in which the perpetrator appeared to be disguised as a white man.
Rockim Prowell was arrested on May 2 during a traffic stop by Beverly Hills police officers fol- lowing a series of burglaries in the area.
Officers were able to link two previ- ous crimes by using video images of the same car.
According to Fox News, police found from sur- veillance video that the man still kept his mouth
open, which led them to believe he was wearing a mask.
According to CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department released the details in a tweet,
which has since been deleted.
It inquired if any- one had any security video of the masked intruder. According to the news site, the department wrote:
"It was strange that this burglar's mouth was still open when seen on surveillance footage."
"We found out that he was breaking into another house
when he was arrested."
When Prowell was arrested, his car was searched. A face mask and other items were dis- covered, which appeared to link
him to residential burglaries in which flat-screen televisions were stolen.
Prowell, 30, was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of grand theft, and vandalism.
Police executed a second search warrant at Prowell's house, resulting in more stolen goods for residents.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division, Prowell has been linked to seven burglaries in the city. He was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 25.
