Ivana Trump Would Make Great Ambassador, Czech President Says
By Ladka Mortkowitz Bauerova
Donald Trump’s ex-wife Ivana would be the best choice for a U.S. ambas- sador to the Czech Republic, the central European country’s pres- ident said, after speaking to her by phone on Wednesday.
The fact that Ivana Trump, the U.S. presi- dent-elect’s first of three wives, expressed inter- est in representing the U.S. in her native coun- try, “made me very happy,” President Milos Zeman said in a press statement. “The U.S. couldn’t send a better ambassador to Prague.”
Born Ivana Zelnickova in
1949 in what was then Czechoslovakia, she fled the Communist-ruled country in 1973 and lived in Canada for two years before moving to New York, where she met Trump. The two married in 1977 and had three
children - Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric - before an acrimonious divorce in 1992. Ivana Trump told the New York Post on Nov. 13 she would ask her ex-husband for the Prague posting.
Zeman said Ivana’s appointment would be a boon for the U.S.-Czech relations and give the NATO member of 10.7 million a direct link to the White House. He has clashed pub- licly with cur- rent U.S. Ambassador Andrew H. Schapiro, a for-
mer Harvard Law School classmate of Barrack Obama, who criticized Zeman for attending a Russian military parade in Moscow last year along with leaders of China and North Korea.

ColoradoManDeportedAfter Sneaking IntoRussiaLookingFor "ABetter Life"
Erica Tinsley, KUSA
Kusa - A Colorado man has just been deported from Russia after illegally entering the country in search of "a better life," Russian media outlets report.
Julio Prieto, a 29-year- old Colorado-based insurance salesman, was stopped at Russia's southern border with Kazakhstan for not hav- ing a valid visa reports Tass, a Russian News agency.
Prieto attempted to sneak into the country, but was caught near Novosibirsk on Sept. 14.	He was charged for
illegally crossing the Russian border.
RIA Novosti, another Russian media outlet, reports Prieto explained in court he had lived in Colorado, where he was
selling insurance, and he was hoping to work in a Russian village.
According to TASS, a source the agency has within the Office of the Russian Bailiffs Service
for the Novosibirsk region said Prieto was deeply disappointed with the Russians' cold wel- come.
Russia's Karasuksky District Court found Prieto guilty and imposed a fine on him for violating Russian migration laws.
Prieto was flown from Novosibirsk to New York on Monday. The Russian Government paid for the flight.
9NEWS contacted New York's Department of State for more informa- tion about Prieto's depor- tation and are waiting on a response.
