Fidel Castro's 90th Birthday Marked With 90-meter Cigar
A veteran Cuban cigar- maker rolls what is believed to be the world's longest cigar to mark the 90th birthday of Fidel Castro.
Tobacconist Jose Castelar (in red shirt) dedicated his work to Fidel Castro.
The masterpiece is 90m long and took 10 days to create with the help of several assistants.
It was presented on long tables in an old colonial fort overlooking the har- bour of Havana.
Mr Castelar and his team worked 12 hours a
day for 10 days to roll the cigar, which is the width of an ordinary one.
The length of the cigar was verified by a British Embassy official, who said the information would be sent to be veri- fied by Guinness World Records.
