By Samantha Lock
THIS is the moment a young yoga enthusiast bal- ances upside down on her balcony - sec- onds before plunging head- first 82ft and breaking 110 bones in a hor- ror fall.
Alexa Terrazas, 23, often prac- ticed complicat- ed yoga poses on her balcony but on Saturday she slipped and fell from her third-floor apart- ment in San Pedro, Mexico.
A friend of the 23-year-old took a snap as she
hung precari- ously from the balcony’s railing, just moments before slipping and falling to the ground below.
The university student at the Tecnológico de Monterrey fell at around 1.10pm on Saturday, reportedly breaking 110
bones from the fall.
The ordeal land- ed Ms Terrazas in hospital for 11 hours of surgery with knee and ankle recon- struction, according to local media out- let El Imparcial.
She is currently in a critical con- dition, having suffered frac- tures to both of her legs and arms as well as her hips and head.
The publication also reported that the student may not be able not walk for three years after doctors were forced to recon- struct her bro- ken legs.
Neighbors said they were used to seeing
Terrazas per- form the danger- ous stunt from her balcony's edge.
The Nuevo Leon Attorney General's office reportedly opened an investigation to determine if the balcony's rail had any struc- tural damages.
However, it has been deter- mined that the fall was the result of an acci- dent.
Friends and family members have asked for blood donations to help with the surgery.
Neighbors reported that they often saw the young woman perform- ing yoga poses from her bal-
cony.
Local news pub- lications have reported that the young woman is the daughter of local entrepre- neur Alberto Terrazas Seyfert, the for- mer President of the National Chamber of the transformation industry in Chihuahua.
Previously a British tourist was rushed to hospital after falling from a Magaluf hotel balcony
while allegedly trying to take a poo.
The 20-year-old man was in a serious condi- tion after falling roughly 25 feet from a sixth- floor balcony, landing on his head.
