Startup To Offer $10,000
To Couples Who Don't
Get Divorced

SEATTLE, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A startup company is offering couples the chance to be rewarded for their commitment, offering free loans toward a dream wedding for any couples willing to stay together for the rest of their lives.
SwanLuv, a startup based in Seattle, believes "everlasting marriage should be rewarded," offering cou- ples a loan of $10,000 toward the wedding of their dreams. The loan is absolutely free for cou- ples who remain mar- ried, but any couples who divorce are required to pay back the full loan with interest.
According to the compa- ny's website winning applicants are chosen using an algorithm based on assessment of online data.
SwanLuv CEO Scott Avy told Geek Wire that the
data found while select- ing applicants also helps determine the rate of interest applied to the loan.
The funds gathered from couples whose relation- ships fail will be used to fund the weddings of new applicants.
"It comes back to statis- tics," said Avy. "We'll have the right odds, so we'll be OK. But they won't be so crazy that no one wants to do it."
In addition to the $10,000 loan, SwanLuv also promises to provide free marriage counseling
to help couples stay together.
The company is set to officially launch in mid- February, but is accept- ing applications.
Avy said couples inter- ested in signing up should take the time to evaluate their relation- ships.
"It really depends on where you are in your relationship," he said. "I'm betting on my rela- tionship I've established with my soulmate. It's going to be a no-brainer for the ones it makes sense for."
