               successful a craftsperson would become or, in fact, whether a person could really
               term himself/herself a craftsperson at all was often expressed in relation to how the

               idea of professionalism was understood within craft circles. In the next chapter we
               see what it meant for those who had become involved in craft to be an amateur or

               professional craftsperson and how important education was as a determinant.
