               The metaphor of the child aptly described the hard work that Brandon had put into

               learning his craft. This was the antithesis of the image the public had of hippies –
               who were generally considered as feckless and lazy. However, Brandon could still

               express himself in terms that might have, in the minds of many, located him firmly in
               the hippie camp. Describing his philosophy he wrote:


                        The only constant thing in this world is change.
                        The task of finding yourself is luckily never ending.

                        You can’t express yourself
                                                29
                        until you know yourself

                        You can’t know yourself
                        until you lose yourself

                        Lose yourself in your work
                                                       30
                        and you will discover yourself
