How does it feel to be a Finalist? “Awesome!” says Store Manager, Pare Kapene. “I’m so proud to work for a business that gives so much.” What do you feel makes your store special? “THE TEAM! So lucky to have a team with experience and knowledge. We recently celebrated a team member 10-year anniversary. The team has given so much to the store, I’ve seen passion and dedication from the team which makes the store what it is.”

How does it feel to be a Finalist? GM, Brent Stewart, says: “As the winner in 2012, we feel very proud to be recognised and acknowledged again for all the hard work and effort that the team put in every day.” And the store’s topachievementinthelastyear? Anewmanagementstructure,which has enabled the store to not only focus on driving the business but also achieve targets not anticipated for another three years!

“We are very proud to be a Finalist in this category,” says Retail Manager, Catriona Wild. “It feels great to be recognised for the hard work put in by the team in our store. They are what makes our store special. We have a good team culture and a team who look out for not just our customers, butforeachother. Theteamhaveastrongsenseofownershipandthis is reflected not just in their respective departments but across the whole store.”

On behalf of the store, Paul Fisher, Regional Manager – Retail, says the Timaru team is “super excited” to be named a Finalist. “We have worked so hard to improve our store over the last six months this is a great reward for all of this hard work.” Timaru has not only changed its merchandising and store fitout, but also the store’s culture which has seen “massive improvements – it really is a happy place to come to work.”
