Hardware Awards
THE FINAL STAGES!
As you read this, just ahead of the 24th annual Hardware Awards Gala Dinner, we’re at the pointy end of months of planning, seeking nominations, encouraging and then sifting through entries.
You’ll have to wait until Thursday 3 October to learn who the 2019 winners are but, in the meantime, you can find out more about the successful Finalists in these pages.
Each Finalist – whether it’s an individual, a store or a team – has something unique to offer, having been singled out and nominated by their peers, key suppliers or their customers.
In the case of the individual categories, they’ve also had to put their own best foot forward by entering on paper and then been further assessed independently.
Not one of our Finalists is there by right, because they represent a particular brand or company, nor because they have some sort of relationship with NZ Hardware Journal, which is a common misconception.
I’m proud to state once again that the Hardware Awards are still the only fully independent programme designed to recognise excellence within the home improvement and building supplies channel.
Thanks in this respect to everyone in our industry who nominated individuals and stores, and particularly to our experienced and insightful panel of judges (see page 6).
Thanks are also due to the wider team at Marketplace Media, which owns and runs the Hardware Awards and publishes NZ Hardware Journal, for all the hard work put in behind the scenes of this year’s programme.
To everyone who’s attending this year’s Awards Gala Dinner, have a great time and celebrate responsibly.
And to our Finalists – only one of you will come up to receive a trophy on the night but, in the eyes of the industry, you’re all winners!
