Thanks in no small part to our panel of judges’ real world experience and valuable insights, the 2019 Hardware Awards remain the New Zealand hardware and building supply channel’s only truly independent awards programme.

Steve Bohling
Group Editor of NZ Hardware Journal, Steve has been closely involved over his long career
with a range of well-known New Zealand B2B and consumer magazines. As well as his hardware and building industry knowledge he brings to the judging panel his interviewing skills and insights.
Brett O’Neill
Brett has a wealth of experience in both the appliance and hardware industries, including key roles with PDL and as New Zealand MD of Breville for 19 years. Brett has a proven track record of success in market leadership and revenue growth for leading brands and recently joined Innova Products as Group Global Sales Director.
Jonathan Elms
Prof Elms is the programme leader of Massey University’s Bachelor
of Retail & Business Management and the Founding Director of
the Centre for Advanced Retail Studies. He is also a regular national and international keynote speaker on retail change, consumer behaviour, strategy and innovation.
Craig Robertson
CEO of Bikes International,
Craig is an established executive leader with 20+ years’ experience coaching and developing large national teams. He has led customer centric sales and service programmes for Briscoe Group, NZ Post, Telecom and Noel Leeming in General Management positions.
Simon Little
Simon is the Director of Marketplace Media, which publishes NZ Hardware Journal and runs the Hardware Awards, which attracts many industry guests annually. Through family connections, and for the last 10 years as owner, Simon has been closely involved with the hardware industry for 20+ years.
Craig Wilson
As a former CEO of Mitre 10 NZ, Craig is credited during his tenure with leading the cooperative towards a new strategy, structure and new national standards, not to mention the launch of Mitre 10 MEGA. After several years as CEO of Foodstuffs Wellington, these days he is Director at Peter Robinson Paving & Concrete.
Danielle McFadyen
New to the panel this year, Danielle is the Agency Manager of Retailworld Resourcing Auckland and Director of Hospoworld Auckland. With an abundance of retail, hospitality and corporate recruitment success behind her and a number of accolades in the world of recruitment, Danielle is in a prime position to contribute as a judge.
Jeremy Wilson
After more than a decade in recruitment, Jeremy started his own company, Build People, in 2012. Initially specialising
in sales reps and managers in building supplies and hardware. The business has now evolved to encompass executive, sales, marketing and ops roles specific to the building industry.
