out to be just a short career break. Now Ruth has been announced as General Manager Commercial at Corys Electrical and will lead the Commercial activities of the business across category/supplier, pricing, sourcing, marketing and digital.
Scott Church is now General Manager at Fox & Gunn, having joined the company in March from Eagle Lighting, where he was New Zealand Country Manager. Prior to this, Scott was with Fletcher company Humes as National Sales Manager 2017-2019, before
which he was Pink Batts’ National Sales Manager 2016-2017 and Humes’ North Island Sales Manager from 2014-2016.
Bonnie Davis is the new Branch Manager at PlaceMakers Warkworth
and comes to the role armed with experience
gained from fulfilling Operations Manager and Trade Support roles at the branch over the last 2+ years.
Dean Farquhar has joined South Pacific Timber as Account Manager and comes to the role with experience gained as Trade Account Manager with Grove Mitre 10 from 2019 to September this year. Dean was Auckland Install Manager for Carters from 2017-2018, Service Development Manager for Winstone Wallboards 2015-2017 and Special Steels Operations Manager at Easysteel, for a little over 5 years.
On top of new NZ Certified Builders (NZCB) Chief Executive Malcolm Fleming taking the Chair of the NZ Construction Industry Council (NZCIC), NZCB itself also has a new Chair.
Nick Farrelly, long-time NZCB member as Edgecity Builders, succeeds Ian Chamberlain as Chair, having previously
been Vice Chair and NZCB’s Auckland Regional President for three years.
NZCB member since 2010, Mike Hayward, of Hayward Builders and Hauraki Transportable Homes in
the Waikato,
is therefore stepping up as the Vice Chair of NZCB Board, having been on the Board since
2020 and NZCB’s Waikato Regional President for four years.
In June, Winstone Wallboards farewelled one of its longest serving team members, highly respected Area Sales Manager Dale Hammett, after nearly two decades with the company.
As a result, 30-year Winstone Wallboards veteran Clara Sumner
will be overseeing South Island market activities at the same time as continuing with her responsibilities as Partnership Manager.
The experienced Richard Scales will continue to look after his customers,
but Christchurch and Canterbury surrounding districts will have a new Area Sales Manager, Barbara Tie. Barbara is another long term Winstone Wallboards team member, having started out as Despatch Co-ordinator before moving to support the Christchurch sales team and managing the Crusaders sponsorship.
The South of the South will be in the highly capable hands of new Area Sales Manager Steven Lindsay, who comes to the role already armed with six years in area sales management at Winstone Wallboards.
Herbert Vollrath Kohler Jr sadly passed away early in September. The Kohler Co’s Executive Chairman was 83.

Alister Lawrence has been appointed to the BRANZ Group Board of Directors and will sit alongside seven other directors on the Board. With an Honours degree in Civil Engineering and a post graduate Diploma of Business Administration, Alister is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors,
with extensive governance experience. He replaces John Brockies whose term expired at the end of July.
Tony Litaio is Sika’s newest Distribution Sales Rep, looking after customers in the wider Auckland area and in the Coromandel.
A former Sales Representative at Mico Plumbing for the previous four plus years, Tony is a family man who loves the All Blacks and watching the NBA. In his spare time, he can be found playing darts, working out at the gym, and spending time with his family.
Jordan Manihera has moved on
from his role as Commercial/Group Home Builder Account Manager
as part of the PlaceMakers Cook St (Central North Hub) team and has shifted south to become Trade Sales Manager of PlaceMakers Queenstown (Central Otago Hub). Jordan is a former professional rugby player for Waikato and his CV also includes experience in account management for firms including Louvretec and Trade Me.
Luke Turner has been promoted to the role of National Operations Manager
