      CodeMark loses another PCB
FOLLOWING THE SUSPENSION of CertMark International Pty’s (CMI) accreditation as a CodeMark Product Certification Body (PCB) in mid-July, later that same month CMI withdrew from the New Zealand CodeMark scheme.
CMI is the second PCB to be suspended this year following BEAL’s accreditation being revoked in February.
The Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) says CMI was suspended “for breaching the following clauses of the Accreditation Deed Poll – Conditions of Accreditation – specifically clauses 1, 2, 14, and 20, and therefore poses an unacceptable risk to

JAS-ANZ and accreditation.”
MBIE has contacted all CMI product
certificate holders to notify them of CMI’s subsequent withdrawal and the next steps that need to be taken.
All current CodeMark product certificates issued by CMI will remain valid and can continue to be relied
on by Building Consent Authorities (BCAs) as long as they remain on the MBIE CodeMark New Zealand Product Certificate Register.
Having said this, MBIE also recommends that BCAs check the Register before issuing any new building consents involving certificates issued by CMI.
