Movers & shakers
DANE AMBLER (right) is the new Executive Director at Buy NZ Made. Having launched and managed the successful ShopKiwiNZ campaign for the organisation, growing it to more than 2,600 businesses, a former BusinessNZ comms advisor, Dane’s CV also features time at the National Business Review as a journalist.
Dane replaces
the organisation’s ED of the last three years, Ryan Jennings (left), who you could credit with raising the profile and usefulness of Buy NZ Made from virtual obscurity. Ryan is now Provost of Caché, which he describes as “a cohort-based course that helps Kiwi business owners uncover the hidden sales and marketing
value inside their business”.
We also have to report two significant changes at fast-growing Aalto Paint and Decora Group. After four and a half years
at Aalto, Technical & Laboratory Manager, Phil Robinson (above), has retired, but will remain part of the Aalto team on a consulting basis. Phil joined Aalto from Spectrum Powder Coaters, before which he will be remembered for his 31-year tenure as Operations Manager at Valspar Paint (NZ).
With Phil’s semi- retirement, joining the Aalto Paint team as Technical Manager is the well-known and equally experienced Donald Randles (left),
who comes armed with
37 years’ experience in the coatings industry, having worked at no less than seven different manufacturers, most recently as Technical Manager for Sherwin- Williams’ Wattyl/Valspar brands.
