Fieldays 2021
     2021 was
big for Fieldays after a year off
How was Fieldays for you? After an enforced year off, NZ Outdoor Power Equipment travelled to Mystery Creek to check the pulse of New Zealand’s (and so far this year possibly the world’s) biggest expo.
    SOMETIMES YOU FORGET
that not everywhere else in the
world is enjoying the kind of freedom of movement and association that New Zealand has worked to achieve, thanks to our community remaining virus-free,
Indeed, “This could well be the [most] significant show of its kind globally this year,” was the comment from Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, during her Fieldays TV interview on Day One of Fieldays 2021.
And the PM had good reason to say so – with final attendance for the event put at 132,776 people through the gate, 2021 was Fieldays’ second biggest in the event’s 53-year history.
On Friday alone, 44,044 people came through the gates setting a new day’s record.
New Zealand National Fieldays Society CEO, Peter Nation, says that getting to opening day was no small feat and he was thrilled with the public’s response to this year’s event.
“Along with our loyal sponsors and exhibitors, the team of five million did the hard yards to get us to opening day, and we are extremely grateful for the support.
“The events industry is a huge part of our DNA, and this was reflected by the astronomical numbers of people coming through the gate.
“Beyond the numbers, the intangible factors that can’t be measured, such as the smiling faces and people reuniting and having a good time, tell me this year’s event was a huge success.”
Hansa investing in the future
As we entered the showgrounds, we grabbed our free Fieldays Explorer Band to tap and connect with exhibitors, claim giveaways, and enter competitions but, sorry to say, we didn’t win the Isuzu ute.
We navigated through the 1,000 exhibitors to our chosen destinations over Fieldays’ massive 47-hectare site thanks to the official Fieldays app.
