BACK IN MAY, Taumaranui’s Jack Jordan sawed his way to STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World
Trophy glory in his first ever international Trophy event, defeating American Jason Lentz in the Final, with Australian axe-legend Brad De Losa finishing third.
The World Trophy returned after a two-year absence in front of a raucous crowd of 3,500 in Vienna, Austria.
The newly crowned World Trophy Champion, says: “It is awesome, I never thought I could win something as big as this against the best athletes in the world.”
While this is still a major achievement for Jack Jordan, the World Trophy is a quick-fire event designed for television and comprises only four of the six STIHL Timbersports disciplines – Stock saw, Underhand, Single Buck and Standing Block.
The main difference between this event and other national and international STIHL
Timbersports events is that all there is no rest between each discipline!
The “real deal” – the 2022 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Champs – are coming in October and involve all six disciplines and are really the “main event” for the year.
The 2022 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Champs take place this year over 28-29 October in Gothenburg Sweden.
