Major trade shows shift and pivot as pandemic persists
a dynamic and engaging experience for the entire industry. I encourage exhibitors and attendees that have already registered or secured exhibit space to roll those monies forward to the 2021 show.”
Planning is already underway for GIE+EXPO 2021, which is scheduled to take place over 20-22 October in Louisville, Kentucky.
Cologne fair shifts to June – Shifting to Europe, as well as cancelling its September 2020 show, in response
to demand, organiser Koelnmesse
is permanently moving the date for spoga+gafa (www.spogagafa.com) to the first half of the year.
In 2021, the event will take place once from 30 May to 1 June, and from 2022 onwards will take place in June.
In terms of the new date, in spite of the worldwide challenges, say the organisers, just under nine months prior to the next spoga+gafa, with a booking status of over 90% the applications are at a pre-pandemic levels and more.
“The current registration status is a fantastic signal for the industries’ trust in spoga+gafa and proves that physical
networking formats are irreplaceable for the generation of sustainable business success,” says Stefan Lohrberg, Director of spoga+gafa.
“Under the hashtag #gardenbackstronger, together with the industry we are underlining the will to allow a successful trade fair to take place in 2021. We are enhancing the strength of a physical event with fresh, digital formats in order to support the customers even more readily with added value in the run-up to, during and after the trade fair.”

fairs here in New Zealand and across the US and Europe have recently postponed their 2020 events, thanks to Covid-19 and the uncertainty that it is creating.
Fieldays looks to 2021 – The digital version of Fieldays 2020 having attracted some 90,455 visitors, Fieldays is nevertheless hoping that 2021 will see the return of the physical event.
Still, with 90,455 digital visitors joining in with Fieldays’ rapidly pulled together first- ever digital event, Fieldays says it was “pretty stoked with the event turnout and scale of what was pulled together in just 108 days!
To say we were blown away with the support received would be an understatement.” Hopefully, next year, Fieldays (www.
fieldays.co.nz) will take place in-person, so to speak, over 16-19 June 2021.
It’s 2021 for Kentucky show – October’s massive annual green trade fair GIE+EXPO (www.gie-expo.com) has been postponed.
“The health and safety of our attendees and exhibitors is critical, and it is with profound regret that we announce the cancellation of our 2020 event,” says Kris Kiser, Managing Partner of GIE+EXPO.
“We’re looking forward to 2021 and already gearing up to make our next show
