Chippers, Stump Grinders & Log Splitters
    New grinder solution from Hansa
HANSA HAS SECURED the NZ
rights to a pair of UK-made, lightweight (under 31.5 kg), high performance handheld tree stump grinding attachments from Chainsaw Attachments.
The two models, ST-661 and ST-880, are designed specifically to work with STIHL MS 661 and MS 880 chainsaws and are billed as the perfect solution for arb or other outdoor power professionals seeking to offer a stump grinding service, without excessive outlay.
Made in the UK, the attachments are compact and easily transported and, with such a light footprint, are well suited to removing stumps in delicate areas like flowerbeds or lawns.

  BANDIT’S LITTLE BATTLER
A BIG SUCCESS for Hydralada
has been Bandit Industries’ ZT1844 stump grinder.
Described as one of the most productive, compact, track mounted stump grinders on the market the fuel injected 38 HP ZT1844 offers big power in easily transportable package ideal for access to tricky back sections.
It features all the power and performance of every Bandit stump
grinder, but with features that make it an ideal machine for rental companies or dedicated stump grinding professionals.
The wider swing arc covers more area when grinding at the stump and the taller grinding height and deeper grinding depth means users can tackle larger stumps and chase the roots deeper into the ground.

Looking at the lifestyle block market, Martin Vogel notes increased demand for quality products with greater performance with Hansa picking up some good sales from those looking for
a second chipper after being “burned” having bought on price alone.
“Second time around, those lifestyle customers are treating their chipper purchase as an investment rather than
a consumable purchase and I believe this is largely driven as a result of being time-poor and requiring a machine that works well and efficiently every time it is needed,” he says.
Despite these two very different takes on the chipper market, one thing is certain, there is still plenty of work out there in this category for those willing to chase it. ■
