KEVEN CHEN, ASIAN Business Manager for PlaceMakers’ South-East HUB,
has been promoted to the role of PlaceMakers’ Head of Asian Business. Keven was Asian Business Manager over 2016-2022 and an Account Manager before that and going back to 2011-2014 was with Mitre 10.
Brendan Jackett, former PlaceMakers Trade Sales Manager, is now the business owner of Mahia ITM in Takanini. The well-known former Operations Manager at Pink Construction was Branch Operator of Westgate and Helensville PlaceMakers 2014-2021.
Masport has a trio of new faces, following its recent re-structuring at head office:
Brentyn Jonson is Masport’s new Product & Training Manager for lawnmowers and barbecues and has been with Masport for over 21 years, having worked for the company in both Australia and New Zealand. Brentyn was previously Masport’s Account Manager, Parts & Service in NZ.
Shannon Kitching is Masport’s new Sales & Key Account Manager for New Zealand, with Simon Gaunt having moved back to Australia after three years in the New Zealand head office,
as the Product and Training Manager in Australia responsible for the Masport distributed products Masport AVA,
Ariens and Gravely, Solo power products and the Morrison range.
Last but not least, Leon Warner, Masport’s new Marketing Services Manager since the start of the year, has been busy hiring a new team, including a permanent Digital Marketing Executive, based in the Victoria office, for the first time. Leon has extensive background in marketing in the service and product- related industry, most recently with the Paper Plus Group and before that as Marketing Manager for Honda Power & Marine here in New Zealand.
Tariq Koya is the new Trade Manager
at Dysart ITM in Glen Innes, Auckland. Branch Manager at Hillside Building Supplies in Glenfield until April, Tariq was also Hillside’s Operations Manager and Account Manager during 2015-2019.
Todd Lindsay is just one of the
new hires at Comfortech Building Performance Solutions, the new entity merging Forman Building Systems
and Tasman Insulation. Comfortech’s new Product Performance & Technical Manager, Todd has real depth of knowledge when it comes to insulation, having been New Zealand Sales Manager for Kingspan Insulation 2019-2022, having fulfilled Category Manager roles 2015-2019 at PlaceMakers and Forman Building Systems and as Market Manager at Forman Building Systems during 2008-2015.
John Lobaton is Lynn River’s new Area Manager for the Upper North Island. Previously Account Manager at NZ Safety Blackwoods 2019-2022, John also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and Associate Degree in Industrial Design.

Emma McQuinn has joined the Husqvarna New Zealand team as General Manager – GARDENA Brand Division. Emma moves to GARDENA from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment where she held roles in marketing and product management, the past six years as General Manager. Emma replaces Nick Bright, who has relocated with his family to Toronto, taking up the position of General Manager – GARDENA Canada.
Clinton Mearns, former General Manager Sales & Marketing at Häfele New Zealand over 2016-2022, is the new General Manager at KnK Architectural Hardware, the role previously occupied by Sean Crowley.
Marty Oetgen, for the last four years Partnership Manager at New Zealand’s largest farmer owned co-operative Farmlands Co-operative, has joined Bunnings as Business Development Manager, tasked with managing customer relationships with Bunnings’ key South Island and agricultural customers. Also formerly business owner of Rental Cars New Zealand 2008-2017, and with a background in recruitment before that, Marty says he’s pleased to be able to continue his relationship with Farmlands as a key customer.
