Bunnings is NZ rugby’s new sponsor
ON 1 APRIL, New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and Bunnings Warehouse announced the signing of a three-year domestic rugby sponsorship deal for the NPC, FPC, Heartland Championships and new Super Rugby U20s tournament.
The new broad sponsorship agreement follows the conclusion of Mitre 10 NZ’s five-year sponsorship deal of the Mitre 10 Cup (2016-2021), which took over when ITM’s support of NZ’s provincial rugby competition the ITM Cup came to an end in 2015.
NZR Chief Executive, Mark Robinson, says the new partnership with Bunnings is part of a shift in priorities for rugby’s national body.
“The past year has provided us with an opportunity to pause and reflect on our priorities and in Bunnings Warehouse
we have found a partner who shares our goal of putting rugby at the heart of every community.”

Connolly, says the deal is about giving back: “Our team live and work within the communities we operate and our focus has always been on contributing to our local communities in meaningful ways, so it was a no-brainer for us to get behind a sport that shares and values the importance
of local community connection and teamwork.
“We are proud to be part of the New Zealand Rugby family and we are looking forward to working closely together to grow grass-roots rugby and help clubs most in need.”
