Aunt’s wedding was held in a courtyard. The setup is small, but very warm. White feathers were car- peted, shining crystals hung in the air, and it was full of dazzling lights. The little courtyard seemed to light up the whole sky at night. Su Qing just drinks a glass of champagne and already feels a little dizzy. She sits in the corner to have a rest, but feels somebody looking at her. She looked around.
As she had expected, she saw the gentle eyes in the light. “Hi, are you....on the rainy day....” Su Qing thought that Hong Kong was such a small place to be able to meet him here. “My name is Jason. My mom and I came to her friend’s wedding. It’s really nice to see you again.” Jason came over and sat next to her, feeling the back of his head shyly as he spoke. “I want to go outside and get fresh air. Do you want to come?” Su Qing stood up and straightened her skirt. “Yeah, in case you get lost again.”
“Did you grow up in Hong Kong?” Su Qing asked.
“Yes, but my mother is from Shanghai, so I can also speak some mandarin.”
“Do you often hold umbrellas for strangers? ” Su Qing tilted her head and looked at Jason. “ Haha. No, not really. It’s hard to always meet the lost girl.”
Su Qing bowed her head and smiled. “You look pretty in cheongsam.”
“So... I don’t look good in other clothes?”
The next day Su Qing packed her bags and was preparing to say goodbye to her aunt. But she was stopped by her uncle, who was in a hurry to come home before she left. “It’s a mess outside, the sub- way has stopped and there was a congestion on the road. It’s not safe to go out now.”
“What happened?” Aunt anxiously asked, looking at the sweating uncle.
“Hong Kong rioted, they all took to the streets to march and destroy everything they can see.” .........
Su Qing went back to her room and sat by the window. She looks at the streets that were filled with chaos, the sound of car horns and thugs echoed through the city. She starts to know more about this city. The collision of different ideas, the collision of different beliefs, the collision of different lineag- es, making Hong Kong a big firework. A little chaotic, but this is what makes Hong Kong unique.
When Su Qing was in a daze, the phone suddenly rang. “It seems that you can’t go home today. Would you like me to show you around?” Jason’s voice sounded relaxed and cheerful through the phone.
Su Qing thought that the chaos didn’t seem to have anything to do with Jason.” No...I think it’s not a good day to go out.”
