6. Outline Descriptive Essay
When thinking about writing a descriptive essay, remember that a
structured paper outline is a writer's golden ticket. Not only will this help
writers organize their thoughts, but it will also help their essays flow better.
Broadly speaking, the outline of a descriptive essay consists of:
•Hook sentence
An Introduction •Context/Background information
•Thesis statement
•Topic sentence
Body paragraph •Sensory details
•Actual details
A Conclusion •Summary of all main points
•Clincher Statement
Even though the concepts and rules in the descriptive text have
been explained in detail, it seems that there are still main problems that
often arise, especially for students, namely how to start writing. In descriptive
text, the first thing you need to do is start writing a paragraph or element
identification. Identification paragraphs generally consist of one or two
sentences. It is usually used as an opening sentence to get the reader's
attention and interest. Then, it also displays a topic/theme to be discussed
or described. To make identification paragraphs more interesting and to
attract readers' interest, it is better to use adjectives. Comparable
identification sentences to use
• Social media is really popular in the era of information and
communication technology
• Computer is a high-tech device
