In the story, the ultimate result of the Prince’s behavior was that their enemies captured the kingdom. But what happens in the real world of your children? By asking them about their own experiences, you may get responses like; “You will loose your friends,” “You won’t do your chores and get punished,” “You
will play and not do homework and get bad grades.” Although t hese are Fables, in the real world, there are also very negative consequences to Demandingness.
1. When the Prince shot poorly and everyone laughed at him, what should or ought statements did he tell himself?
I ought to be able to shoot as good as them and they should not laugh at me, I am the Prince.
2. What were his emotions?
He was embarrassed and angry
3. What did he do (behavior) because of this thinking?
He broke the other boys’ arrows and made everyone get rid of their bows and arrows.
4. What eventually happened because of the Prince’s behavior in the story?
The kingdom was destroyed by neighboring tribes.
