No one objected to this request. Consequently, he continued to eat ice cream and pie for every meal.
Now, I'll admit to having a “Sweet Tooth,” but not sweets for every meal. I think I would get tired of it, don’t you? Well anyway, I asked Buster what did ice cream and pie have to do with the fact that this place is in ruins?
“Patience, patience,” he said. “You will soon understand how this was the beginning of the end of the kingdom.”
Buster continued with the story. He told me that members of the Royal Court began to be concerned for the Prince’s health. “All he eats is ice cream and pie. Surely this will make him ill,” was the conversation of his advisors. Several of the concerned advisors went to the Royal Doctor and asked him if he would speak to the prince about his diet and about their concerns.
The doctor, realizing that this concern was well founded, went to the Prince and explained all of the possible medical problems that could be caused by his diet of ice cream and pie. He also explained the benefits of a more balanced diet. The Prince was disappointed about the prospect of giving up his ice cream and pie but not too upset.
